Hai Phong to invest $48mln in building new urban road

The northern port city of Hai Phong has approved a major infrastructure project to build a new road linking Ho Sen Street to the Quan Mau intersection, with a total investment of more than VND1.244 trillion (approximately $48 million).

According to the Hai Phong People’s Committee, the project includes the construction of a road connecting Ho Sen Street to the Quan Mau roundabout on Lach Tray Street, along with upgrades to surrounding urban areas in Le Chan ward.

Funded entirely by the city budget, the project will be managed by the Hai Phong Transport Infrastructure Construction Investment Project Management Board.

The new road will feature four lanes with a 25-meter-wide roadbed and will connect Ho Sen Street to the main axis of the ICC Urban Area. The project also includes the construction of the Quan Mau roundabout, as well as supporting infrastructure such as drainage systems, traffic safety facilities, landscaping, and street lighting.

Located in Le Chan and Gia Vien wards, the project is scheduled for implementation until 2029, with construction expected to begin in 2026 and completion targeted for 2029.
