Hanoi plans to speed up construction of key transport projects given that disbursement of public investment capital fell 4.5 per cent year-on-year in the first quarter.
The Hanoi Statistics Office said VND8.1 trillion ($338 million) in public investment capital was disbursed during the three-month period, equivalent to 15.7 per cent of the annual target and down 4.5 per cent against the same period last year.
City authorities have asked investors and contractors to enhance resources to boost the construction of key transport projects to increase disbursement.
The city has set a target of disbursing 40-45 per cent of public investment by June and 95-100 per cent in the year as a whole.
Hanoi will implement 96 transport projects this year with total investment of more than VND7.5 trillion ($313 million), or 53.1 per cent of the city’s total public investment plan for the year.
