The Hanoi People’s Committee has approved the construction plan of Thuong Cat bridge across the Red River, connecting Bac Tu Liem and Dong Anh districts, and two approach roads to the bridge.
The bridge, which has a length of 820m and a width of 33m, has an estimated investment capital of nearly VND8.3 trillion ($325 million), funded by the city's budget.
The starting point of the project is at the intersection with Ky Vu Road in Thuong Cat Ward of Bac Tu Liem district. The ending point of the project is at the intersection with Road 23B in Dai Mach commune of Dong Anh district. The total length of the whole route, including the bridge, is approximately 5.2 km.
Scheduled to be completed by 2027, the bridge is expected to ease traffic congestion and boost the socio-economic development of the capital.
Thuong Cat is one of the 10 new bridges spanning the Red River under Hanoi’s transport plan for the 2015-2030 period.
