Hanoi posted GRDP growth of 6.27 per cent in 2023, according to the city’s Statistics Office.

Its services sector grew 7.26 per cent, contributing 4.69 percentage points to GRDP, while the industry and construction sector rose 5.29 per cent, contributing 1.18 percentage points.

The capital attracted FDI of over $2.9 billion, including $441 million in investment capital for new projects.

Over 31,000 enterprises were established during 2023, a year-on-year increase of 6.3 per cent. Total registered capital was estimated at VND346 trillion ($14.4 billion).

Vietnam’s capital posted total retail sales of consumer goods and services of VND776 trillion ($32.2 billion), up 10.4 per cent compared to 2022.
