Hanoi’s tourism sector reaped revenue of VND7 trillion ($294 million) in February, a three-fold increase year-on-year, according to the municipal Department of Tourism.
It welcomed 1.98 million tourists last month, a 2.5-fold rise year-on-year and up 13 per cent against January. The figure included 183,000 foreign visitors.
In the first two months of the year, a total of 3.73 million tourists visited the capital, including 535,000 international arrivals. Total turnover was nearly VND13.2 trillion ($554 million).
It will speed up the implementation of new tourism products this year to attract more tourists, such as adventure sports, tours along the Red River, helicopter and hot air balloon tours, and virtual tours.
The capital targets welcoming 22 million tourists in 2023.
