The Hanoi People’s Committee has submitted to the municipal People’s Council for approval a plan to select contractors for a technical preparation for the building of the urban railway line No.3 connecting Hanoi Railway Station with the outlying district of Hoang Mai.

The technical project has a total investment capital of over VND343 billion ($13.5 million). Of which, $12.6 million will be sourced from non-refundable Official Development Assistance (ODA) provided by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the European Union (EU).

The total length of the route would be more than 8.78km, with an underground section of 8.13km and seven stations.

The urban railway line No.3 is on the corridor connecting the western area with the city center and the southern area of ​​the capital city.
