The total number of tourists visiting Hanoi in 2023 is estimated at 24 million, a 27 per cent increase compared to last year, according to the city’s Department of Tourism, the Ha Noi Moi (New Hanoi) online newspaper has reported.

Foreign visitors stood at 4 million, a year-on-year increase of 266.7 per cent.

Tourism revenue totaled VND87.65 trillion ($3.65 billion), up 45.5 per cent year-on-year.

The capital targets welcoming 26.5 million tourists in 2024, a year-on-year rise of 10.4 per cent. This includes 5 million foreign visitors and 21.5 million domestic tourists, representing year-on-year increases of 25 per cent and 7.5 per cent, respectively. Total revenue is expected to reach VND99.77 trillion ($4.15 billion).
