HCM City issues plan to support SMEs in digital transformation

The People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City has issued a plan to support small- and medium-enterprises (SMEs) in digital transformation through 2025.

The plan is aimed at optimizing SMEs’ operations and improving their production and trade capacity as well as competitiveness, contributing to boosting the city’s socio-economic development.

SMEs, cooperatives and household businesses are encouraged to get access and update information about digital transformation on a website of the Ministry of Information and Communications at https://dbi.gov.vn.

Relevant departments, agencies and authorities of the city are tasked to organize conferences and workshops on business digital transformation to provide information, share experience, introduce and apply digital platforms to help businesses promote digital transformation.

The city’s Department of Information and Communications will coordinate with the Ministry of Information and Communications’ Department of Digital Economy and Digital Society to choose and introduce appropriate digital platforms for SMEs as well as implement solutions to support SMEs to use digital platforms.

The department is also in charge of signing agreements and cooperating with associations and businesses that supply digital solutions to support local SMEs.

The city will provide financial support to consult digital transformation solutions for SMEs.
