HCM City posts positive growth in January

Ho Chi Minh City posted positive economic growth in the first month of 2025 with retail sales of consumer goods and services being the key driver, according to the city’s Statistics Office.

Total retail sales of consumer goods and services reached nearly VND108 trillion ($4.26 billion), marking a year-on-year increase of 7.5%.

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 0.92% compared to the previous month and 4.29% year-on-year.

The city has targeted a GRDP growth of 10% this year, with total social investment estimated at VND620 trillion ($24.4 billion), including VND112 trillion ($4.41 billion) of public investment capital and VND70 trillion ($2.84 billion) of FDI.
