Total retail sales of consumer goods and services in Ho Chi Minh City reached over VND212.7 trillion ($8.26 billion) in the first two months of 2025, a year-on-year rise of 15.9%, according to the municipal Department of Finance.
Of the total, retail sales in February contributed more than VND105.8 trillion ($4.19 billion), up 27.2% year-on-year.
The city also posted positive growth in other economic indicators during the two-month period, contributing to boosting its socio-economic growth.
The Index of Industrial Production (IIP) surged 6.09% compared to the same period last year.
Total tourism revenue was estimated at more than VND37.4 trillion ($1.45 billion), soaring 30.2% year-on-year.
HCM City targets a GRDP growth of 10% this year.
