Ho Chi Minh City targets to serve 6 million foreign visitors and 38 million domestic tourists in 2024, according to the city’s Department of Tourism.
Total tourism revenue is expected to reach VND190 trillion ($7.59 billion).
In the first nine months of the year, the southern metropolis welcomed over 4 million international tourists, up 12.4% compared to the same period last year and equal to 66.9% of the annual target.
Meanwhile, more than 27.35 million domestic holiday makers visited the city, a year-on-year rise of 1.3% and equivalent to 72% of the yearly target.
The sector gained a revenue of over VND140.39 trillion ($5.6 billion), surging 11.9% year-on-year and fulfilling 73.9% of the annual target.
