The Ho Chi Minh City Economic Forum 2023 (HEF 2023) will take place on September 13-17, with discussions focused on green growth.

With the theme “Green growth - The Journey to Zero Emissions”, HEF 2023 will demonstrate a message of “Green growth and our actions” in calling on all sectors, authorities at all levels, businesses, and people to play a role, said Deputy Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Vo Van Hoan.

“The world is changing quickly but our actions remain slow and awkward; we even don’t know what to do,” he told a press briefing on September 7. “It is therefore essential to conduct a strong campaign for specific action.”

According to a representative from the city’s Department of Foreign Affairs, topics of discussion at HEF 2023 will include green growth and circular economy trends for megacities like Ho Chi Minh City; building a circular economy ecosystem aimed at zero emissions; policies in formulating green growth towards zero emissions and the missions of enterprises; resources in circular economy development towards zero emissions and the missions of enterprises; international lessons and experience in promoting green growth and the circular economy; and Ho Chi Minh City’s reality and solutions to apply green growth models.
