Ho Chi Minh City has launched a data management strategy to 2025 with a vision towards 2030.
The strategy is expected to unlock the potential of data to better serve the operations of local authorities, provide friendlier and more effective services to the people, raise productivity, and boost innovation, towards the comprehensive and sustainable development of the digital economy.
To 2025, it will focus on data regarding people, finance and business, and land and urban areas.
The strategy is built as part of cooperation between the southern city and the World Bank.
Speaking at a meeting held to launch the strategy on March 3, Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Phan Van Mai said the city plans to set up a digital transformation center, which will store, manage, and protect data in line with regulations.
The city has identified “digital data” as a foundation in comprehensively carrying out digital transformation, developing the digital economy, and building a digital society, he said.
