Ho Chi Minh City welcomed an estimated 7.77 million international visitors in the first eight months of 2026, up 38.5% year-on-year, while domestic arrivals reached approximately 35.5 million, according to local authorities.
Total tourism revenue during the period was estimated at VND259.7 trillion ($9.9 billion), up 48.8% year-on-year and equivalent to 78.7% of the city’s full-year target.
For 2026, the city aims to attract 61 million visitors and generate VND330 trillion in tourism revenue. With revenue already approaching four-fifths of the annual target after eight months, the sector is expected to retain considerable growth momentum during the remaining months of the year.
The city is also developing a support mechanism for new tourism services, products and activities. A draft resolution proposes a combination of non-financial measures and direct budget support, with funding of up to VND1 billion ($38,000) available for some eligible models.
