According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, a series of promotional activities titled “Vietnam – Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Promotion” are taking place in Las Vegas and Los Angeles (the U.S.) from October 4 to 12, in conjunction with IMEX America 2025 and a tourism promotion seminar in Los Angeles.

Covering an area of 800 square feet (approximately 74.3 m2), the exhibition booth at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas is designed with a distinct Vietnamese identity, showcasing key tourism products such as MICE tourism, luxury travel, cultural and historical tourism, and Vietnamese cuisine.

By participating in this event, Ho Chi Minh City’s tourism sector not only promotes its destination image but also directly connects with a high-quality network of international buyers, creating opportunities to attract MICE travelers — a segment known for high spending, longer stays, and strong potential to link tourism with trade and investment.

In addition to trade activities, the Ho Chi Minh City delegation also participated in several conferences and thematic forums within the framework of IMEX America, focusing on global trends such as sustainable tourism, digital transformation, bleisure (business + leisure) travel, and the application of AI in event management. These discussions are expected to help shape Ho Chi Minh City’s tourism development strategy toward greater professionalism, creativity, and international integration.

According to Ms. Nguyen Minh Bao Ngoc, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Promotion Center, this marks the city’s first international promotion campaign since its administrative merger with the former provinces of Binh Duong and Ba Ria–Vung Tau, representing a significant step forward for the city’s large-scale tourism industry. With advantages such as coastal and island ecosystems, rich cultural and historical heritage, and modern logistics infrastructure, Ho Chi Minh City is well-positioned to develop new tourism products,  including cruise tourism, industrial tourism, and international MICE tourism.

“The strategy targeting high-quality travelers from the U.S. is a crucial step for Ho Chi Minh City to affirm its role as a leading tourism hub in Southeast Asia and to realize its vision of becoming a ‘mega tourism metropolis’ and Vietnam’s international gateway in this new stage of development,” Ms. Ngoc added.
