The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam plans to select investors through bidding for the maintenance and equipment projects at Long Thanh International Airport in the third quarter of 2024.
The plan has been given the green light by the Ministry of Transport.
The maintenance and equipment projects are estimated to cost nearly VND1.6 trillion (over $32 million).
They involve the construction, provision, and operation of repair and maintenance services for vehicles, aviation equipment, and ground technical commercial services, essential for the airport’s Phase 1 operations.
The projects are scheduled to take about 18 months to complete.
Long Thanh International Airport, located in southern Dong Nai province, has total investment of an estimated VND336.63 trillion ($13.74 billion), with construction divided into three phases.
The first phase has total investment of nearly VND110 trillion ($4.48 billion), with construction of a passenger terminal and runway getting underway last August.
The terminal will be able to cater to 25 million passengers and handle 1.2 million tons of cargo a year.
