The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has committed to provide an official development assistance (ODA) loan of nearly $450 million for Vietnam’s post-Covid-19 pandemic recovery and key infrastructure projects.

A signing ceremony for the loan agreements between JICA and the Vietnamese Government was held on July 4.

Of the total, around VND8.75 trillion ($369 million) is earmarked for the General Budget Support Program for Socio-economic Recovery and Development of Vietnam Post-Covid-19 Pandemic.

More than VND1.09 trillion ($46 million) will be allocated to the Public Transport Infrastructure Improvement Project in southern Binh Duong province.

The remaining VND829 billion ($35 million) will be earmarked for upgrading infrastructure to boost agricultural development in the central highlands’ Lam Dong province.
