The Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee has introduced decisions approving planning for two subdivisions in the Van Phong Economic Zone.
The Vinh Yen - Mui Da Son urban and tourism area (subdivision No. 4 in Van Thanh commune) will be developed into an urban, tourism services, and resettlement area. Covering about 3,566 ha, including 1,723 ha on land, the complex is to accommodate 11,000 people.
The Bac Hon Heo, or North Heo Island (subdivision No. 17 in Ninh Hoa town) will be zoned for urban, services, logistics, and industrial purposes. Covering about 3,679 ha, mostly on land, it will host 50,000 permanent residents.
Earlier, in July, the Provincial People’s Committee also gave the go-ahead to planning for an additional four subdivisions in Van Phong.
The Hon Lon Island eco-tourism subdivision will be on a total area of 10,000 ha, nearly half of which is on land.
The Khai Luong Mountain tourism subdivision, meanwhile, will include 1,865 ha on land and 2,150 ha of water surface area.
The Dam Mon Port - Urban Centre will be developed into an urban, service, eco-tourism and resort, and international port complex on some 8,276 ha.
And the Co Ma - Tu Bong urban and tourism area in Van Ninh Commune will cover some 6,631 ha and serve industries ranging from trade and research to airports, seaports, and urban and tourism services.
