South-central Khanh Hoa province plans to invest nearly VND184.3 billion ($7.8 million) on implementing its tourism promotion strategy for the 2023-2025 period and vision to 2030.

Under the strategy, the home of Nha Trang and Cam Ranh will develop tourism into a spearhead industry and become one of the leading destinations in Southeast Asia.

It welcomed 2.57 million tourists last year, earning total revenue of an estimated VND14 trillion ($593 million), surpassing the annual plan by 250 per cent.

An estimated 4 million tourists are expected to visit Khanh Hoa this year, including 1.5 million international arrivals. Total turnover is estimated to reach VND21 trillion ($889 million).
