Khanh Hoa province in central Vietnam is expected to have 317 projects, including over 100 transitional projects and more than 200 new  projects in the mid-term public investment plan for the 2026 – 2030 period, with total capital estimated at nearly VND140 trillion ($5.3 billion), according to a report from Radio the Voice of Vietnam.

Of this, the local budget accounts for about VND76 trillion (over $2.87 billion), and budget from the central Government for over VND58 trillion (nearly $2.2 billion). The remaining VND340 billion (nearly $12.9 million) will be allocated under specific mechanism as defined in the National Assembly's Resolution 55.

Regarding the mid-term public investment plan for the 2021 – 2025 period, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee has approved a reduction of about VND49 billion ($1.85 million)  in public investment capital for the Van Thang Resettlement Area Project, Phase 1; supplemented VND36 billion ($1.36 million) to complete projects that are expected to be handed over in 2025, and over VND13 billion for new commencements.

The Standing Committee of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee requested competent authorities to clearly identify the urgency of each project, prioritizing key infrastructure projects serving public welfare, and simultaneously linking them with the implementation of central and local resolutions. The motto is that investment resources must be allocated appropriately, not only meeting immediate needs but also opening up space for sustainable development for the province.

"In the next term, Khanh Hoa will reduce the number of projects by 30% to concentrate resources on key projects with high spillover effects, capable of changing the situation and transforming the state," said Mr. Nghiem Xuan Thanh, Secretary of the  Provincial Party Committee.
