South-central Khanh Hoa province recorded GRDP growth of 12.7% year-on-year in the first six months of 2024, ranking the second among 63 localities of Vietnam, according to the provincial Statistics Office.
The GRDP is estimated at over VND31.2 trillion ($1.22 billion).
The province also posted high growth in many other economic indicators with the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) rising 46.36% compared to the same period last year.
Total retail sales of goods and services were estimated at over VND62.58 trillion ($2.45 billion), up 15.14% year-on-year.
The province earned over $1 billion from exports, surging 16.85% year-on-year.
During the six-month period, Khanh Hoa welcomed nearly 5.2 million tourists, skyrocketing 88% against the same period last year. Total tourism revenue reached more than VND26 trillion ($1.02 billion), a year-on-year growth of 96.82%.
Khanh Hoa targets a growth of 10% for the whole year.
