A delegation from the Korean Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, led by Consul General Shin Choong Il, visited the Dong Thap Muoi region in Long An province on October 29, aiming to explore its tourist attractions, the Vietnam News Agency reported.
The delegation toured the Ecotourism Center for Research, Conservation, and Development of Medicinal Plants, known as the "Medicine Forest," and the Tan Lap Floating Village Ecotourism Area.
Consul General Shin Choong Il praised the well-preserved ecosystem and infrastructure at the Research Center, expressing hope for future collaborations with Korean pharmaceutical and tourism companies. The delegation was impressed by the rural scenery and the peaceful atmosphere of the Tan Lap Floating Village.
Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc, Secretary of the Long An Provincial Party Committee, highlighted the province's potential for tourism, particularly its unique wetlands, and encouraged Korean visitors to experience the local culture, cuisine, and natural landscapes.
Mr. Duoc emphasized that Long An's tourism development aims to strengthen international connections, attract investments, and promote the province's image globally.
The province has witnessed a significant increase in tourism this year, with visitor numbers exceeding 1.17 million, showcasing the growing appeal of its cultural and natural attractions.
