Prudential Vietnam welcomed Dame Susan Langley, Lady Mayor of the City of London, and a high-level UK delegation to its headquarters in Ho Chi Minh City on September 14 as part of her official visit to Vietnam aimed at strengthening economic and financial ties between the UK and Vietnam.
The visit provided
an opportunity for representatives of the City of London and Prudential Vietnam
to exchange perspectives on developments across the financial and insurance sectors,
Vietnam’s long-term growth potential, and opportunities to deepen collaboration
between British and Vietnamese financial institutions and businesses.
As an international ambassador for the UK’s financial and professional services sector, Dame Susan champions engagement between UK businesses and international markets. Drawing on more than three decades of experience in insurance and financial services, she brings a unique combination of industry expertise, international market insight, and policy perspectives.
During her visit, Dame Susan met with Prudential Vietnam’s Executive Committee and employees, sharing her views on the future of financial services, the evolving role of insurance in supporting economic growth and resilience, and key trends shaping the industry’s future.
“We are honored to welcome Dame Susan Langley and the UK delegation to Prudential Vietnam,” said Mr. Conor M. O’Neill, Chief Financial Officer of Prudential Vietnam. “The visit reflects the strong and enduring relationship between the UK and Vietnam and provides a valuable platform for exchanging perspectives on the future of financial services and insurance. As Vietnam continues its growth trajectory, we believe closer dialogue and collaboration between businesses in both countries will help unlock new opportunities and contribute to the continued development of the sector.”
Dame Susan’s visit followed the UK-Vietnam High Level Conference on Financial Services 2026, held earlier the same day and attended by government representatives, businesses, and financial institutions from both countries. During a dedicated session on capital market development, Mr. O’Neill shared Prudential’s perspective on the role of capital markets in mobilizing long-term investment and supporting sustainable economic growth.
With nearly three decades of operations in Vietnam, Prudential Vietnam is one of the country’s longest-established foreign-invested enterprises in the life insurance sector. Beyond its business activities, the company actively supports initiatives that promote financial literacy, sustainable development, and stronger connections between the UK and Vietnamese business communities.
The visit by Dame Susan Langley and the delegation underscores the importance of continued dialogue and knowledge exchange between the financial services sectors of both countries, and reinforces Prudential’s long-term commitment to supporting the development of Vietnam’s financial and insurance markets.
