Lao Cai puts digital border gate into operation

Northern Lao Cai province officially put into operation a digital border gate on August 21, to simplify customs procedures for organizations and individuals importing and exporting goods via the Kim Thanh International Border Gate No. 2.

Organizations and individuals conducting export and import activities through the border gate are required to make declarations at https://cuakhauso.laocai.gov.vn to facilitate customs procedures.

The digital border gate is expected to help cut time and cost related to customs clearance at the border gate.

Lao Cai is the second locality in the country, following nearby Lang Son province, to introduce a digital border gate in order to streamline customs procedures.

It is also aims to ensure publicity and transparency in handling administrative procedures and improving the management capacity of State agencies while creating a multi-dimensional connection channel between the State and the business community.

Lao Cai targets posting export-import revenue of $5 billion in 2023.
