The majority of NA deputies praised the achievements of the 2025 socio-economic development plan and the 2021-2025 plan as well, while also making specific recommendations.
Delegate Tran Hoang Ngan from the Ho Chi Minh City delegation emphasized that to achieve rapid and sustainable economic development, in addition to taking advantage of the existing international position and prestige, implementing Resolution 59 of the Politburo, we need to prioritize development based on the country's potential, advantages, and geopolitical position; focusing on prioritizing the development of the marine economy, logistics, agriculture, services, health care, education, etc.
He suggested that in addition to promoting trade, exploiting traditional markets, and effectively utilizing the 17 FTAs that Vietnam has signed, it is essential to increase the green, digital, scientific, and technological content and added value in Vietnam's exports. Attention should be paid to the domestic market of 106 million people and international market of 30 million tourists, along with 1 million businesses and over 3 million production households.
Furthermore, according to Mr. Ngan, the implementation of the Politburo's Resolution 68 and the NA's Resolution 198 on private economic development policies has been slow, resulting from not timely issuance of guiding decrees and circulars.
Deputy Nguyen Dai Thang from the Hung Yen delegation, for his part, recommended shifting growth models from extensive to intensive, focusing on productivity, science, technology, and innovation as growth drivers.
