Mitsubishi Xpander overcame Mitsubishi Xforce to lead the market in terms of sold vehicles in September with 2,688 units, according to the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (VAMA).
Other brands among the top ten include Mazda CX-5 (1,856 units), Toyota Vios (1,842), Mitsubishi Xforce (1,821), Honda City (1,590), Ford Ranger (1,473), Hyundai Accent (1,290), Toyota Veloz Cross (1,147), Hyundai Creta (1,068) and Kia Carnival (1,023).
Some 36,585 vehicles from different brands were sold nationwide in September, making an increase of 45% compared to the previous month and 44% against the same period last year, figures from VAMA show.
Of which, there were 19,500 domestically manufactured and assembled vehicles, up 62% month-on-month, and 17,085 imported units, surging 30% month-on-month.
The increase was attributed to a 50% cut in registration fees for domestically manufactured and assembled vehicles, under a Government Decree which takes effect from September 1 to November 30 this year.
