The production and trade activities of most enterprises have resumed after Tet (Lunar New Year) holidays, leading to an increase in recruitment demand, especially in the southern region, according to the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
More than 96 per cent of workers have returned to work after the week-long holiday.
In Ho Chi Minh City, over 94 per cent of enterprises have resumed operations. The number reached 100 per cent at hi-tech parks.
A survey conducted at more than 500 enterprises in the city showed that they need more than 14,300 workers in the first quarter of this year, chiefly in the fields of garments and textiles and footwear.
The Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs has forecast that recruitment demand will continue increasing as production and trade activities will stabilize following sustainable socio-economic development.
