Vietnam should focus on developing high-quality human resources, especially in high-tech fields, the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) has said.
In a report presented to the 15th National Assembly (NA) on October 23 during the opening session of its 6th sitting, MPI called for intensive training of between 50,000 and 100,000 highly-skilled workers in the semiconductor industry in the 2025-2030 period.
It also urged the study and formulation of mechanisms to maintain the key role and position of science, technology, and innovation, to create breakthroughs in productivity, quality, effectiveness, and competitiveness in the national economy.
These are among the solutions that MPI proposed to the NA to help stabilize the macro-economy, control inflation, and ensure major balances in the context of the national GDP target being set at over 5 per cent in 2023, or lower than the 6.5 per cent set by the NA earlier this year.
