During his working trip to central Da Nang city, National Assembly (NA) Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue inspected the construction progress of the Lien Chieu Seaport on November 11.

He asked engineers and workers at the construction site to accelerate work and complete the project on time.

Investment in the seaport demonstrates a long-term vision in regional connectivity, creating a firm foundation for the city’s economic development, the NA Chairman said.

He emphasized that the port will help Da Nang boost its economic development in three pillars: logistics, industry, and services.

Lien Chieu Seaport will also serve as a gateway for the central coastal region to integrate globally, he added, becoming a hub along the East - West Economic Corridor, which links four countries in the region.

It covers an area of 450 ha, with total investment estimated at over VND3.42 trillion ($140 million). Construction began in December 2022 and is expected to be completed in November 2025.
