In the first ten months of 2025, 162,900 new enterprises were registered, marking a significant increase of 19.7 per cent, compared to the same period in 2024, accroding to the National Statistics Office (GSO).
A particularly bright spot in the past ten months is the robust recovery of businesses. The country recorded 92,900 enterprises resuming operations, a substantial increase of 40.3 per cent year-on-year.
Consequently, the total number of new and returning enterprises in the first ten months of 2025 reached 255,900, a 26.5 per cent increase from the same period of the previous year. On average, 25,600 enterprises joined or rejoined the market each month.
Notably, the total additional registered capital for domestic businesses during this period reached an impressive VND5.2 quadrillion ($197.5 billion), an increase of 98.2 per cent from the same period in 2024. This surge is primarily driven by active enterprises, indicates a strong confidence among businesses in the market, prompting them to expand their scale and invest more in production and business activities.
By economic sector, the service sector continues to lead with 124,800 new enterprises, a 21 per cent increase, followed by industrial and construction sector with 36,600; the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector with 1,534.
Despite the positive growth, the market is undergoing a significant cleansing process, as reflected in the number of businesses exiting the market. In October 2025 alone, 4,536 enterprises completed dissolution procedures, an 8.5 per cent increase from the previous month and a 128.3 per cent increase from the same period in 2024. Additionally, 6,065 enterprises temporarily ceased operations (an 11.2 per cent increase) and 6,771 enterprises awaited dissolution (a 24.8 per cent increase).
Overall, in the first ten months of 2025, some 105,400 enterprises temporarily suspended operations, a 14.4 per cent increase, and 26,800 enterprises completed dissolution procedures, a 54.5 per cent increase. On average, 19,100 enterprises exited the market each month.
