Nearly 35,500 enterprises were established in the first two months of 2026 with total registered capital of around VND313.7 trillion ($11.97 billion), according to the National Statistics Office (NSO).

The figures represent a year-on-year increase of 70.7% in number and 36.1% in capital.

In February alone, some 11,300 firms were set up with total registered capital of nearly VND132.8 trillion ($5 billion), up 11.6% year-on-year and down 2.6% year-on-year, respectively.

Meanwhile, nearly 29,000 enterprises resumed operations during the first two months, down 0.2% compared to the same period last year.

However, business withdrawals remained high. A total of 77,000 enterprises exited the market in January-February, increasing 14.9% year-on-year.
