The Ministry of Transport has decided to add ten new inter-provincial fixed passenger transport routes to facilitate the transportation activities of businesses and to prevent the operations of illegal bus services.

Inter-provincial fixed passenger transport routes will increase to 9,350 by 2025.

Figures from the Ministry show that transport activities have increased over the past four months. More than 1.49 billion passengers were transported by land, a year-on-year rise of 24.6 per cent.

Freight transport reached nearly 550 million tons, up 13 per cent year-on-year.

The number of passenger buses increased to around 21,000, according to the Vietnam Automobile Transportation Association.
