The National Assembly (NA) will elect new State President at its 8^th session in October, General Secretary of the NA and Chairman of the NA Office Bui Van Cuong was quoted by the Vietnam News Agency as stating at a press conference on August 26.

At the press conference Mr. Cuong announced the results of the 8th extraordinary session of the 15th NA on August 26, during which the appointment of three new Deputy Prime Ministers, namely Nguyen Hoa Binh, Ho Duc Phoc and Bui Thanh Son, and 2 new ministers  was approved by the NA.

Deputy PM Ho Duc Phoc will continue serving as the Minister of Finance until the NA approves the appointment of a new one. Meanwhile, Deputy PM Bui Thanh Son will simultaneously hold the post of the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
