The Ministry of Transport (MoT) has asked relevant agencies to carry out procedures and prepare investment for the construction of the T2 passenger terminal at Dong Hoi International Airport in central Quang Binh province.

The investment plan is expected to be approved in October and site clearance is scheduled for completion by the second quarter of 2024.

Capacity currently stands at 500,000 passengers a year but overloads are common as passenger numbers and cargo volumes continue upwards.

The T2 terminal is designed to serve 3 million passengers a year, with total initial investment capital estimated at more than VND2.2 trillion ($94 million).
