The Ninh Binh Provincial People’s Committee has proposed the Prime Minister assign it to build a section of the Ninh Binh - Hai Phong Expressway passing through the northern province.

Total preliminary investment for the section is estimated at VND8.45 trillion ($353 million). Of this, the province proposed the government provide VND6.45 trillion ($269 million) while the remainder will come from the provincial budget.

The Ninh Binh - Hai Phong Expressway project was approved by the Prime Minister in September 2021. It has a total length of 109 km.

The section running through Ninh Binh province is 25.4 km. It will have a speed limit of 120 km/h and four lanes. Once approved, construction is scheduled to kick off next year and be completed in 2026.
