In 2025, Yen Bai, a mountainous province in northern Vietnam, aims to increase industrial production growth from 8.2% to 10.5%, contributing to economic growth in accordance with the Government's goals, according to a report from Radio the Voice of Vietnam.
From the beginning of the year, many businesses in the locality have proactively engaged in production, expanded their scale, and put more factories into operation. The provincial Department of Industry and Trade has also actively addressed challenges and promptly resolved difficulties for businesses to operate smoothly.
According to the department, the province’s industrial production value in the first two months of 2025 was estimated at VND2.86 trillion ($111.9 million), an increase of 9.8% compared to the same period last year. The index of industrial production increased by 9.22%.
The province's export turnover in February was estimated at $38 million, and in the first two months of 2025 at $72.5 million, an increase of 16% compared to the same period last year.
Mr. Pham Trung Lan, Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Industry and Trade, stated that this positive signal demonstrates the efforts of businesses in production and operations.
In 2024, the province’s industrial production index increased by 9.23% compared to the same period, exceeding the set plan.
