Some 95,220 enterprises were established in the first seven months of the year with a total registered capital of VND854.64 trillion ($33.58 billion), figures from the Business Registration Management Agency at the Ministry of Planning and Investment show.
The figures represent increases of 6.3% and 2.4%, respectively, compared to the same period last year.
In July, the number of newly-established enterprises reached 14,700 with a total registered capital of over VND110.4 trillion ($4.33 billion), up 7.3% and down 13%, respectively.
Existing enterprises resuming operations in the seven-month period standing at 44,270, a year-on-year rise of 4.7%.
However, the period saw 78,000 businesses registering for a temporary suspension of operations, a year-on-year surge of 16.7%
Over 35,500 enterprises ceased operations while waiting to complete dissolution procedures, down 1.5% year-on-year, while 11,920 businesses were dissolved, up 14.5% year-on-year.
