Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has sought the optimization of all opportunities to successfully achieve socio-economic targets in 2023.
He made the direction at a teleconference held on January 3 between the government and Vietnam’s 63 provinces and centrally-run cities to review performance in 2022 and carry out tasks in 2023.
More attention is needed on consolidating and enhancing the macro-economic foundation, controlling inflation, and improving the internal capacity and self-reliance of the national economy.
Priority should be given to improving the country’s business environment; addressing difficulties, limitations, and weaknesses in the economy; restructuring the economy; boosting national digital transformation; and protecting the environment.
Reviewing the achievements posted in 2022, he said the 8 per cent growth is much higher than the target of 6-6.5 per cent and even higher than in most countries in the region and the world.
