Phu Quoc Island, off the coast of the Mekong Delta’s Kien Giang province, was named among the Top 10 most favored resort islands in Asia in the Readers’ Choice Awards 2023 from US tourism magazine Condé Nast Traveler (CNTraveler), according to the Vietnam Government Portal (VGP).

It appeared on the list for the second consecutive year, ranking eighth compared to sixth in 2022.

Phu Quoc is also known as “Pearl Island” and is indeed a resort paradise and one of Vietnam’s most attractive tourist destinations. It is the country’s largest island in terms of area, and famed for its long white sand beaches, clear blue waters, and poetic beauty.

It boasts luxurious, world-class resorts, where tourists can lounge on Rach Vem, Bai Dai, or Hon Mot beaches, visit fishing villages, or enjoy water sports, among other options.

Foreign visitors can stay visa-free on Phu Quoc for up to 30 days. Its international airport hosts flights from destinations around the world.

The number of foreign arrivals on Phu Quoc Island nearly tripled year-on-year in the first nine months of this year, to 470,538.

It currently has 274 tourism projects on a total area of more than 9,300 ha, with investment capital of nearly VND368 trillion (over $15 billion).
