Plans afoot to upgrade Ca Mau Airport

Anh Tú -

Airport to be designed to welcome 2 million passengers a year by 2050.

Investments in upgrading Ca Mau Airport in southernmost Ca Mau province will be made under the public-private partnership (PPP) model if Airports Corporation of Vietnam does not have any investment plans, according to the Ministry of Transport (MoT).

Upgrades to the airport will be based on a master plan for the aviation sector’s development to 2025 and vision to 2030, which has been submitted by the MoT to the Prime Minister for approval.

Under the plan, the airport is to have a capacity of welcoming 1 million passengers a year by 2030 and 2 million by 2050.

It currently has an annual capacity of 200,000 passengers.
