Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has instructed authorities in southernmost Ca Mau province to maximize its outstanding advantages in seafood, tourism, and renewable energy to create breakthrough development.
Speaking at a working session with provincial authorities on December 10, Prime Minister Chinh also asked the province to focus on science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, the circular economy, green transition, and energy transition to develop rapidly and sustainably.
It is also necessary to boost transport infrastructure development, such as upgrading Ca Mau Airport, building expressways, and developing water ways, as well as focus on promoting administrative reform and improving the business and investment environment, he said.
On the same day, Prime Minister Chinh attended a ceremony announcing the province’s master plan for the 2021-2030 period with a vision to 2050 and an investment promotion event.
Ca Mau has recorded important achievements in socio-economic development in recent years. Its GRDP in 2023 is estimated at more than VND45.4 trillion ($1.87 billion), up 7.83 per cent year-on-year and exceeding the plan.
