PM asks Lam Dong to promote science, technology and innovation for sustainable growth

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has asked Central Highlands’ Lam Dong province to make breakthroughs in science and technology, innovation, sartups and promoting the application of achievements of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, especially in the service and agriculture, in order to foster rapid and sustainable growth.

Speaking at a working session with provincial authorities on August 25, PM Chinh said the province should also focus on measures to boost digital economy, green economy, circular economy, sharing economy and night economy as well as climate change adaptation and development of cultural and entertainment industries.

The Government leader instructed the province to build mechanisms and policies to mobilize all social resources for rapid and sustainable development, especially for expanding the infrastructure system serving transport, healthcare, education and culture promotion.

The province was also asked to continue improving its investment and business environment, mobilizing all resources for development, restructuring its agricultural sector, boosting the forestry sector's growth, developing manufacturing-processing sector, and turning tourism into a spearhead economic sector.

Lam Dong posted a GRDP growth rate of 5.63% and a GRDP scale of VND116 trillion ($4.64 billion) in 2023, ranking 45th among 63 centrally - run localities in the country.
