Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has asked the central province of Thua Thien-Hue to boost economic restructuring with priority given to resources for the green, digital, and circular economy.

Speaking at a working session with local authorities on March 25, the Prime Minister said the province should mobilize all possible resources for development and improve the efficiency of using and attracting investment capital, especially FDI.

The province was also instructed to promote its potential and strengths, particularly in aquaculture and tourism development.

The government leader asked it to speed up administrative procedure reform, improve the investment and business environment, and accelerate digital transformation.

Thua Thien-Hue recorded gross regional domestic product (GRDP) growth of 8.56 per cent last year, while State budget collections exceeded VND12.7 trillion ($552 million).

In the first quarter of this year, total social investment capital was estimated at nearly VND4.9 trillion ($209 million). The industrial production index was up by 1.04 per cent year-on-year while tourist arrivals more than doubled, especially foreign visitors.
