Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has directed relevant ministries, agencies and localities to work to complete the project building the 500 kV national transmission line, Circuit 3, by June this year.
He inspected the project, which stretches between Pho Noi district in northern Hung Yen province and Quang Trach district in the central province of Quang Binh, on January 27.
The 519-km line passes through 211 communes and wards in 43 districts of nine provinces, including Quang Binh, Ha Tinh, Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Ninh Binh, Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Hai Duong, and Hung Yen.
The project consists of four component sub-projects and will be built at an estimated cost of VND22 trillion ($916.6 million).
Construction of the first component sub-project got underway on October 25, 2023, while the remaining three began on January 18, 2024.
The Prime Minister also visited four points of the project, in Thai Binh, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, and Thanh Hoa provinces.
He emphasized that this is a key, urgent project that plays an important role in ensuring national energy security, especially for the northern region.
Ministries, sectors, and Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) were asked to work closely with local administrations and relevant agencies to speed up project progress, to complete and put it into operation in June.
