2023 will be a year of compiling and exploiting data to create new values, building a national database, and connecting and sharing databases between ministries and localities, according to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
Speaking at a meeting on December 25 to review a year of implementing a project on developing the application of a population database, e-identification, and e-authentication for national digital transformation in the 2022-2025 period and vision to 2030 (Project 06), the Prime Minister asked ministries, sectors, and localities to further improve their awareness on the significance of digital transformation in the national socioeconomic development strategy.
He asked for the acceleration of updating, connecting, and sharing digital platforms and databases along with completing the public service portal.
After a year of implementing Project 06, awareness and behavior regarding digital transformation have improved in all localities at all levels, while State management has generally switched to digital modes, with helpful products and services provided to individuals and businesses, according to the National Committee on Digital Transformation.
Sixteen important documents were issued in 2022 regarding digital transformation, including a national strategy on digital economic development to 2025 and vision to 2030.
Currently, 48 of Vietnam’s 63 cities and provinces are operating provincial smart monitoring and management centers.
A population database has also been set up, connected to 47 ministries, localities, and State enterprises.
The National Online Service Portal, meanwhile, provides nearly 4,400 public services at Levels 3 and 4.
Ninety-nine per cent of all enterprises pay their taxes online, while all operating businesses have used e-invoices.
