Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has asked that measures be adopted to tackle legal obstacles and facilitate the implementation of public investment projects.
He made the request during discussions on a law amending and supplementing laws on investment and budgets to tackle barriers in projects.
The discussions were part of the government’s monthly specialized session on law building, held on June 29.
Prime Minister Chinh asked the Ministry of Planning and Investment to prepare appropriate plans after reviewing policies and regulations and to address the difficulties and challenges facing project implementation, particularly the construction of roads and expressways.
Government members also discussed proposals on building a law on teachers, a draft amended Law on Archives, and a law amending and supplementing certain articles of the Law on Chemicals.
The Prime Minister said that, since 2022, the government has maintained monthly law building sessions during which it has focused on removing institutional obstacles.
However, there remain shortcomings to be addressed, including limited resources and personnel for law building and slow progress at some agencies, he pointed out, asking ministries and heads of sectors to pay more attention to improving law building quality and progress.
