Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has asked relevant ministries and agencies to strongly combine integration in different fields, with economic integration the focus, in order to boost economic development.
He made the direction while chairing the first meeting of the steering committee for the plan on reviewing the ten-year implementation of Politburo Resolution No. 22-NQ/TW on international integration, held on August 2.
Under the Resolution, since 2013, Vietnam has upgraded its relations with seven countries to strategic partnership or comprehensive strategic partnership and with seven others to comprehensive partnership, raising the number of countries with which it has strategic or comprehensive partnerships to 33, including all of the world’s superpowers.
Vietnam has deeply engaged in many new-generation and high-standard free trade agreements (FTAs) and trade links. It has signed 16 FTA with the participation of 60 economies. In 2022, total trade value reached $732.5 billion.
