Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has asked relevant agencies to be proactive in responding to challenges from cyberspace to ensure cybersecurity and network information safety.
Speaking at a meeting of the National Steering Committee on Cyber Security and Safety in Hanoi on August 25, the Prime Minister emphasized that cybersecurity and safety must be a crucial, regular, and long-term task in order to maintain a secure, healthy, and trustworthy online environment for government agencies, organizations, businesses, and citizens, in parallel with socio-economic development.
He said investment in cybersecurity and safety is investment in sustainable development and generating value. It is therefore necessary to promote the active role and participation of organizations, businesses, associations, and experts from both inside and outside of the country.
The Prime Minister also stressed the need to research, develop, and achieve self-reliance in technology and products and services for cybersecurity and safety in Vietnam.
He also called for proactive global integration in cybersecurity and safety in a spirit of friendship and being a trustworthy and responsible partner in the international community, together with compliance with international laws and agreements to which Vietnam is a signatory.
