Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh proposed that Vietnam and Laos promote economic connectivity between the two countries, particularly in transport, while receiving Lao Minister of Planning and Investment Khamchen Vongphosy in Hanoi on September 14.
He also suggested that the two countries remove difficulties facing major joint projects and launch new cooperative projects, foster the investment activities of businesses on both sides with suitable mechanisms and policies, while optimizing each other’s advantages to supplement each other in terms of markets and materials, and take measures to enhance two-way trade.
The Prime Minister stressed that Vietnam attaches great importance to and gives the highest priority to maintaining and developing its special relationship with Laos, considering it as a valuable asset with an important role in the revolutionary cause of each.
Mr. Khamchen affirmed that the Lao Ministry of Planning and Investment and the Laos-Vietnam Cooperation Committee as well as himself will continue to work hard to foster cooperation between the two countries and cement agreements and directions from senior leaders of the two nations, thus bolstering the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive ties between the two countries.
