PM requests to complete Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway in 2025

The $1.08 billion expressway connecting Can Tho city to Hau Giang, Bac Lieu, and Ca Mau provinces.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has requested relevant ministries, agencies and localities to accelerate the Can Tho - Ca Mau Expressway in the Mekong Delta to complete the project in 2025.

He made the instruction while visiting the construction site of the project in Hau Giang province on December 15, which forms part of the eastern North–South Expressway for the 2021–2025 period.

The 111-km expressway section connects  Can Tho city to Hau Giang, Bac Lieu, and Ca Mau provinces.

The project has a total investment capital of nearly VND27.5 trillion ($1.08 billion). Its construction began on January 1, 2023 and is scheduled for completion by December 2025.

So far, 53% of the project’s workload has been completed. Local authorities have handed over 100% of the main route's land and 99% of the connector roads.
